PHOTOS: Tourist attractions stand empty amid COVID-19 concerns

As the coronavirus has officially been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, countries around the world are taking measures to keep residents and visitors safe. As a result, many of the world’s biggest tourism destinations have been closed temporarily or have seen declines in the number of visitors. Here’s a look at some tourist destinations and major hubs, normally filled with people, as they shut down in an effort to fight transmission of COVID-19 through proximity.
