Developer spends 30 years transforming £13,500 bungalow into £4m Venetian palace

A property developer has spent the last 30 years transforming his home into a Venetian-style palace.

Trevor Wynne-Jones, 81, bought a bungalow near Staines, Surrey for £13,500 in 1966 and immediately demolished it, building a new home in its place.

It wasn’t until the 1980s that his imagination began to run wild and he embarked on this remarkable project, which has now gone on the market for £4 million.
