Alison Brittain, Whitbread

Alison Brittain joined Whitbread as chief executive on 4 January 2016, leaving her role as group director, retail division, Lloyds Banking Group where she worked from 2011. 

She has also held senior roles at Santander UK and Barclays – where she spent almost two decades – and is a non executive director of Marks and Spencer Group.

Brittain grew up in Derbyshire, and graduated from the University of Stirling with a degree in business studies, followed by an MBA from the Cambridge Judge Business School.
