Revealed: The safest (and least safe) cities in the UK

Belfast is the UK’s safest city, it can be revealed. Insurance giant Admiral analysed more than 4 million claims for car thefts, car break-ins and home burglaries to conclude the Northern Ireland city Britain’s safest place to live.

Residents of North West London, Central London and South West London are the most likely to claim for incidences of car crime or burglary, figures obtained for the past two years show.

Lorna Connelly, head of claims at Admiral, said: “Relatively few of the claims we deal with are for car crime, and the improvement in car security has no doubt resulted in fewer thefts in recent years. However, our research shows it’s still a problem that hasn’t gone away.”
