Swoon's new Nomadic furniture collection is perfect for renters

Swoon's new Nomadic collection is a 30-piece range aimed at ‘generation rent’ – but with longevity in mind. These pieces of furniture can easily be transferred to a new property if you need to move quickly.

While becoming a homeowner remains a distant dream for many, renting is on the rise, and interiors brand Swoon has sat up and taken notice with this new collection.

It’s designed to be compact, lightweight, portable and wallet-friendly. As an alternative to disposable pieces that last a year or two, the collection has been created to last – pared-back design, rich materials and expertly crafted but without the fussiness.

The Nomadic collection will add style to any rental space, and when it comes to moving day, it will pack up and reassemble in no time.

Swoon has named the collection after the top two searched-for London areas for private rentals – Docklands and Southwark.

Sam Baldry, Head of Design, comments on the collection: ‘Influenced by mid-century Scandinavian design, the Southwark range has turned tapered legs, delicately softened edges and smooth curves that really showcase delicate joinery at its best.

‘In creating the Docklands range, we’ve used clever proportioning and light touch detailing to take what might just be a simple industrial piece and turned it into a wonderfully sophisticated utilitarian design. And that’s really what this collection is all about – providing all of the purpose and function that many of us need in our fast-paced nomadic lifestyles but also adding the beauty of great design.’
