She’s a far cry from Captain Jack Sparrow’s battered and weather-beaten boat, but this Black Pearl is certainly creating some waves.

At almost 107 metres long – that’s more than 350ft – this astonishing testament to modern design and extraordinary boat-building is the biggest sailing superyacht on the seas today.

The Black Pearl, designed by Ken Freivokh Design of Southampton and thought to cost in the region of $200 million, is one of ten new entries to the 101 largest superyachts in the world, as named by magazine Boat International.

Boat International editor Stewart Campbell said: “They really represent the pinnacle of design and construction and each of them is a massive project.” The full list appears in the January issue of Boat International, out now.
