Description

Fincantieri S.p.A. operates in the shipbuilding industry worldwide. Its Shipbuilding segment designs and constructs cruise ships; expedition cruise vessels; and naval vessels, such as aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, corvettes, patrol vessels, amphibious and logistic support ships, multirole and research vessels, special vessels, and submarines. The company's Offshore and Specialized Vessels segment designs and constructs high-end offshore support vessels for offshore wind farms and the oil and gas industry; specialized ships, such as cable-laying vessels and ferries; and crewless vessels. Its Equipment, Systems and Services segment provides ship repairs, refitting, refurbishment, conversions, product lifecycle management, and training and assistance services; fitting out of cabins, public areas, catering, wet units, and windows; and advanced technological solutions, including design and integration of complex systems, cyber security, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure. This segment also offers electrical, electronic, and electromechanical integrated systems, as well as entertainment systems; stabilization, propulsion, positioning, and power generation systems; and steam turbines. In addition, it engages in the design, construction, and assembly of steel structures, such as bridges, viaducts, airports, ports, maritime/hydraulic works, and commercial and industrial buildings. The company also offers dry-dock management, project and supply chain management, ship interior, information technology consultancy, mechanical products sale and after-sale, marine diesel engine maintenance, engineering, technological research and development, and ship accommodation and pipe installation services; manufactures air and spacecraft and related devices, and computers and peripheral equipment; and charters boats, ships, and barges. The company was founded in 1959 and is headquartered in Trieste, Italy. Fincantieri S.p.A. is a subsidiary of CDP Equity S.p.A.
