If it hasn't become obvious to you, the investing game has changed greatly. Very little buy and hold going on. Get in, make some money, get out! That's pretty much it. The market can be challenged but it cannot be trusted.

Hi, I bought today, should go down now- cheers

The stock isn't falling very much considering the rest of the market, so I suspect it will come back up nicely. GL!
Yahoo does not compute PE ratio correctly. Last Q PE ratio is 5. It is excellent buy.

5 year low inventory, massive inflation but still low aluminum prices.. what a weird mix, matching inflation alone would drive the price up but there is no demand.

Please take a look at ticker ILUS if you get a chance. Drones, EVs, UAVs, patented firefighting technolofy and safety products and solutions. ILUS International is a microcap that is quickly becoming a conglomerate. They have had several acquisitions in the last 16-months and have increased rev and profits every quarter. Please see Yahoo Finance for mre details and news, it is worth a look. Have a good day..

Commonly used finite resource with continued increasing demand forecast for the next 5-10 years, I don't see how this doesn't move upwards over time....

Aluminum price is down 25% from high, stock price is down about the same. Follow the price and maybe you can make sense of this stock. It is much better than gold stocks because price of gold and gold stocks don't follow as closely. If you calculate Al today at 2875, fair price range is 64 to 72. This stock is mostly oversold RSI at 42. I love to invest in commodity stocks because I can always find the actual stock value. What do you think of AA price at 60 now? respectfully AE
just no demand. spot prices down to 1.26 a pound this morning. used to be profitable above 90 cents but with energy prices, this has changed. strange days for sure
Folks, I assume that you are investing for the sake of making money, as opposed to proving the correctness of your past decisions. So why insisting to make money on Alcoa? I see that AA has a trailing PE of 15.86 now according to Yahoo statistics page. On the other hand, NMM has a trailing PE of 1.29, steadily growing earnings (as its container ships get reset from old low-rate contracts to new super-high rate contracts), and Net Asset Value (NAV) more than 3X the current market cap (according to the latest company presentation). The ocean shipping sector has great fundamentals in this high inflation environment, since the shipping rates are increasing with commodity prices, and also the ships that are currently owned by the companies are going up in price, while the debt is becoming easier to repay with the growing income stream.
