    Anglo Asian's Azerbaijan gold output down 8 pct in Jan-Sept

    BAKU, Oct (HKSE: 3366-OL.HK - news) 13 (Reuters) - Azerbaijan's top gold producer Anglo Asian Mining (LSE: AAZ.L - news) said on Thursday its January-September output was 7.8 percent lower than in the same period last year at 49,874 ounces and it was cutting its 2016 production target. The company reduced its 2016 output target to 69,000-71,000 ounces from a previous 73,000-77,000 ounces. In 2015, it increased gold production by 19 percent to 72,032 ounces, hitting its target for the year.

    Anglo Asian's Azerbaijan first-half gold output down 6 percent

    Azerbaijan's top gold producer Anglo Asian Mining (LSE: AAZ.L - news) said on Thursday its first-half output fell 5.9 percent to 33,837 ounces but that it was keeping its 2016 production target unchanged at 73,000 to 77,000 ounces. The London-listed firm said it increased copper production at Azerbaijan's Gedabek main mine and the Gosha mine to 969 tonnes in the first six months, from 418 tonnes a year earlier. "The second half of the year has historically been our best performing half due to the seasonally better weather and our production will also benefit from the second SAG (semi autogenous grinding) mill which is due to start operating next month," Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri said in a statement.

    Anglo Asian's Azerbaijan Q1 gold production falls 18 percent

    Azerbaijan's top gold producer, Anglo Asian Mining Plc (LSE: AAZ.L - news) , cut its output by 17.6 percent to 14,172 ounces in the first quarter and set a target of 73,000 to 77,000 ounces for 2016. The London-listed firm said it increased production of copper at Azerbaijan's main mine, Gedabek, and the Gosha mine to 432 tonnes in January to March, from 182 tonnes a year earlier. "The first quarter of the year has always had lower production due to the difficult winter weather conditions," Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri said in a statement on Wednesday.
