How do people explain/justify the high PE on this stock. I appreciate that it's tremendously well managed (or at least that's what all the analysts are saying) ... but it's PE is double that of company like Google? Am I missing something .... curious to know if the PE is a misleading figure in this case?

Does anyone's account show the adjusted split yet?

The split feels a little weird but BIP has been so solid longer term that I just say "WHA...oh, okay" and keep on holding on as The Market does Its Thang.

Added to my holdings today at 42.92. BIP is involved in a really large capital raise--over $700 million and possibly over $800 million. What that means to me is that in BIP's efforts to recycle capital (it looks for opportunities to buy infrastructure properties that are undervalued, have highly reliable cash flows, and offer opportunities for improvement and enhanced cash flows; sells them when it has fixed them up and there are limited opportunities for further improvement, and uses the funds received to start the process over with new properties), it has uncovered numerous opportunities that are truly attractive. The company is extremely well-managed, and would not be undertaking the capital raise of this magnitude unless the benefits from the new opportunities substantially outweigh the dilution from the newly added outstanding shares. In short, we can expect the funds from operation (FFO) to increase more than previously expected.

What do you guys think of this as an investment for a younger investor (22 years old). I am looking for safer stocks to add throughout my life and reinvest the dividend until I retire. Right now I have almost all my portfolio in small-midcap companies looking to diversify. Thanks!

Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation launches unsolicited takeover bid for Inter Pipeline Ltd. $BIPC started accumulating shares during March of 2020 and now own 19.6% of $IPL. $BIP/BIPC Management sure knows how to buy low at a bargain basement level. Hopefully they get a good price! ... GO $BIP/$BIPC 🚀 ... PS: This explains the recent $BIPC price action.

    Announced today-
“The Board of Directors has declared a quarterly distribution in the amount of $0.5375 per unit, payable on March 31, 2020 to unitholders of record as at the close of business on February 28, 2020. This distribution represents a 7% increase compared to the prior year.”

Is there any risk in this tanking due to the demand for BIPC (corporation)? Brookfield intends to convert all of these shares to the Corp but currently has no plan or timeline to do so.... I’m curious which is better at the current prices for a long-term hold....
Thank you all for any input you can provide.

Can someone possible tell me why I shouldn’t sell all my shares of Bip-un and move everything over to BIPC? The difference is now $30. When they split, the 2 were equal. I get that bipc is more accessible but will anything ever equalize this difference or will bip-un always underperform? Makes no sense how the same business can trade for such a huge difference in price. I made the mistake of selling my bipc shares recently and buying more units but maybe I should have reversed that trade and went all in on BIPC

Good move by Brookfield Infrastructure, aligning itself with Digital Reality to get into India’s data center market in a big way. Should bode well for BIP going forward.
