Growth has been anemic over the years hence the depressed price. Glad to see they are putting some of that cash pile to use with the recent acquisition of Avanan which is a nice complement to their product suite. In June 2021, Avanan reported having over 4000 customers and 260% growth YOY. Hoping some of this will translate to CHKP.

Are the details of the avanan acquisition known yet? The market looks muted about this deal.

Think maybe it's time for a new CEO. Growth is as stagnant as messages on this board.

CHKP....Run up into earnings, growth will be off the charts, but the future partnerships that are in play could propel stock north of $180.00. Second half of 2020 will be CHKP time. Also CHKP has a big acquisition Target on their back, easily bring 40% premium or $200 per share.

These day, people love stocks with relatively large amount of short position to repeat GameStop play. According to Yahoo finance, about 10% of the shares of CHKP is short. Also, 27% of the shares are held by insiders. It appears that the stock could be a good candidate for a similar play. Lets hope good things happen.

Can anyone help me understand what's keeping this from rising? They have solid earnings in a growth industry in tech. Under 20 P/E. What am I missing?

Great earnings report, beat on profit and beat on revenue. Okay time to sell sell sell, same ol story, this stock is where it was in october 2017, certainly not a growth stock with 4% growth on revenues and it just won't pay a divy for some reason, it just loves sitting on a mountain of cash. So I am starting to wonder why do I want to own this stock anymore. I have been sitting on it since 1999. I thought since they pioneered the cybersecurity firewalls that they would be the greatest thing since peanut butter, but the index 500 has way outpaced them for growth. Total snoozer this one is.

Great company. Again, this thing needs to run a bit more to catch up w the valuations of its competitors, none of which make money like CHKP.

If anyone wants an explanation as to why it is gaining today. It's simple: I gave up yesterday and sold, after holding for a year and watching it stagnate.

A dead Yahoo Finance thread ~ the best kind. Bought my first Checkpoint Software shares in October, 1998. My recollection has it being in the teens ~ Yahoo has it being two dollars & change so i guess the stock has split a number of times. Made a ton of money on it but even a monkey going long & picking stocks by tapping a keyboard randomly could have made money during the internet go-go days between late '98 & March 2001. Going to buy my first CHKP shares since then here soon as a swing play into earnings on April 26. I like the chart set-up & the company is in the right space. Good luck to the long-suffering Checkpoint longs, even if few of you will see this post.

An independent agency made an evaluation on CHKP and reached the conclusion that the price of 110.24 is about 7% under its fair price. I looked at their calculations and realized that they calculated the fair value for about 17b$ and then divided by total outstanding share and came up to 119$. This sounds to be a good estimation. However, according to Yahoo finance, if we consider total number of outstanding which 140.2 then we end up having 121.20 share price. The calculation is very conservative and by looking at the earning and revenue surprise within the last three quarters, we can confirm that 130-150 would a good one year target price. Every thing depends on overall market change and concern on inflation.

Time for Check Point to roll. Been sitting with a few shares in one of my IRA's since early November. I first invested in CHKP in October of 1998 for five bucks & change. No Scheisse Made us a lot of money and sold in the $80's when the market crashed in the spring of 2000. This latest cyber attack was one of the most serious ever. It was supposedly espionage vs damage-causing in nature. Since Microsoft believes one of the main threats may be from a private hired gun firm located in Israel ~ Checkpoint may be near ground zero. I see signs of buying underneath the surface. Gonna add some more shares today or next week. This sure would be a frustrating stock to own lately. What are they doing with that huge cash hoard?

I am going to say 2.24 per share in profit for the release of earnings in the morning. What are some other guesses?

I can’t believe there is no chatter on this board. This is a very well run company, extremely focused on the bottom line, hence they actually make money. Easily reaches $125 by end of year, won’t be surprised by $130.

Pre market action says it all. CHKP keeps losing market share and sits on $4B. Management is not investing in growth for the company. We need an activist investor to put pressure on management to grow the business.

I believe there earning projections for 2019 are too pessimistic, with all the deferred revenues and the new product lines they have I believe they will do much better than forecast, plus sitting on 4 billion in cash for acquisitions is a good thing.

Finally making a nice move. I hope it wakes up some of the share holders.
