I hope today was just a funny imbalance of sell to buys.
I am banking of Fbrt book value of 18.17. WIth the cash payments the total will be 6.90 for cmo stock. Will FBrt sell at book value ? Above book value or below book value? We will see tuesday.

Buy on opening? Oh A nice arbitrage opportunity on the dip this morning? We will still get the 99 cent premium payment and book value still at 6.20.

This seems out of place. The merger. Agency hybrid arms, the safest portfolio of agency and seasoned, being sold to a commercial mortgage loan fund…. Makes zero sense.

One quick question, so when CMO's publicly traded shares go to a private equity holder, Benefit Street Partners Realty Trust, how can I get my money out of the Benefit Street Partners Realty Trust? I really don't care about the 20% payout in cash if they are going to steal the remaining equity from me!

Have they announced an ex-dividend date to qualify for the 99 cent payout?

"Based on the June 30 adjusted book values per share,1 the implied cash payment would be $0.99 per share and the total value would be $7.30 per share, representing an implied 20% premium to the last reported sale price of Capstead common stock on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") on July 23, 2021."

If I am reading this correctly, then the stock price should increase to $6.31. It is already at $6.57.

New to investing. Can someone explain to me the buy out? You’ll get 99 cents per share you own when the merger goes through? And then your shares (whether it’s 1:1, reverse split, etc) will convert to the new ticker?

I’ve held this stock since 2013, was attracted to the yield and seemed somewhat stable at the time, tried to dollar cost average when I could, but feels, like my ROI keeps decreasing. Keep DCA or...?

This is just like AGNC.....why is it down so much, and AGNC it up??/ Both have obligations guaranteed by the govt agencies.

Thoughts on how CMO compares versus other REITs?

FOLKS ARE MOVING OUT OF CALIF/NEW YORK/CHICAGO/WASH STATE/OREGON......HIGH TAXES, AND
NUTTY JERKS FOR MAYORS, AND GOVERNORS ALONG WITH CRIME & HIGH TAXES! MORTAGE BUSINESS ALONG WITH LOW RATES WILL BE VERY GOOD FOR AWHILE ON RE-FI, AND NEW HOME LOANS. I AM BUYING 600 SHARES TODAY IN AN IRA AS A STARTING POSITION. IN 1 YEAR IT MIGHT BE $7 PAYING $0.20 CENTS DIVVIE.

Does anyone have any suggestions for monthly dividend payers.

Under normal circumstances this preferred stock trades between $23 and $25. When it trades below that range the overall market usually sucks and when it trades above $25 market participants are usually desperately looking for yield.

Did we get any more updates on CMO book value for July or Aug?

Pleasant Move today. Wasnt expecting that given the weeks performance and yesterdays bad earnings. But I guess they confirmed the book value of the company solidifying the buyout price.
