Times are changing in favour of Centrica, with energy suppliers down from a peak of 70 to around 50 at present and possibly 15 by year end, CNA is rapidly gaining market share with UK taxpayer money to bail out distressed households. Increased competition of the last decade will keep reversing and the big boys will gain. Expect CNA share price to rise much further.

Centrica must be top 10 take over targets as share price is so under the odds.

Who is looking at the 2 year chart? Should go back to 100 in the future at least, right?

Can anyone explain how a company like CNA with a brand like British Gas, can continue to bleed energy customers at the rate they do, year in year out? Why is it that it cannot compete with other suppliers to buy energy at the right price and present that to customers as a great deal? Part of the recent issue is the perceived bullying and maltreatment of staff in the fire and rehire scandal but the loss of customers was going on long before that.

I will tell you the answer. British Gas is still stuck in a post nationalised industry malaise even after all these years. The same poor lower and middle management with their bad habits passed on in the lines of succession. We had Mr Conn who , in my opinion, should have been fired long before he was let go. If you had held these since privatisation then you may be in the money still with all those decades of divis but buy it now? I'm not so sure.

Most mis-managed company I have ever seen. Will continue to shrink. The only thing it has going for it is the balance sheet and that is diminishing along with its customer base. Only thing that can save the Share price is a takeover, if that doesn't happen and the dividend gets dropped. Good luck...

The Centrica (LSE: CNA) share price has fallen by 55% this year. Thanks to the stock market crash, this utility stock has now lost 90% of its value since September 2013.

I'm sure this stock is undervalued, especially with the direct energy cash injection and new management appear to be modernising and streamlining the business model. Since 2013 the stock has hovered around 12x adjusted EPS and 40p is under half that.
My only concerned is the big hedge funds have been put off the uk energy market due to regulations, price caps and threats of nationalisation, and therefore won't put any weight into share price jumps πŸ™ƒ

So Morgan Stanley think a company that earned Β£1.2bn profit last year should have a market cap of 5bn. Interesting

Is this bloodbath ever going to end? I have held CNA for long time and questioning myself if it’s worth holding on or jump the sinking boat? Any thoughts ladies and gentlemen?

LT debt to equity is over 2.5. In my experience hardly any of these huge companies facing large debts and with very large workforces and commitments attempting restructuring do anything other than drawn down and plummel equity holders for a long long time.

Centrica shares seem to have found a bottom level. It has risen slowly last 3 days.3 more utility companies have the broke, bringing the total to 7 this year.Less competition and more nervousness in smaller utilities from the public.
