In the first stage of the two-step deal, Colonial will buy the 13% stake in SFL held by Credit Agricole (PA:CAGR)'s Predica subsidiary for 592 million euros.

Getting authoritative information on CRARY is difficult. Yahoo says ex-div is 14 May for CRARY. Yet ex-div for ACA-FR is 18 May. CRARY took a sharp decrease early, then bounced back. And then down again. Some places show a dividend of .39, some a dividend of .48. The price chart shows it started at 7.81, up to 7.99, then shows it closed down..... .4. I would prefer to invest directly in Credit Agricole, but can't do it on the two brokers I use.

I'm not certain how this works. According to what I can find, CRARY, the ADR for ACA-FR went ex-div on May 14. However, ACA-FR went ex-div on May 18. With most stocks, there's a drop in price on ex-div day to account for the lack of dividend. So there's two drops...one for the ex-div on CRARY, and then when ACA-FR goes ex-div, there's another drop since CRARY reflects the price of ACA-FR (two for one). So it would appear that anyone who bought on May 14 (Friday) or May 17 (Monday) got burnt by the two ex-divs. Or is my analysis wrong?

OK...from what I gather from the Credit Agricole site, the dividend will be .8 Euro...or about USD .96. Since the ADR is half a share, that puts the CRARY dividend at approximately USD .48. After French taxes, that should put it...about .38 or so, as a qualified dividend. Payment would be in May. But there's something about a script option. Can anyone clarify or come up with a definitive analysis?

Apparently most US is not interested. Bought a small quantity under $4 with the idea the exchange rate would take it higher. Should have bought 10k rather than 3k. Will hold, because if they start the dividend up again, it should be in excess of 8% in USD.

What's going on with Crary? Bought some a year ago at around $5. Div is good, and expect Euro to go up against the $, so should be in good shape.
