Ingram Micro will add the capabilities of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google and IBM to its CloudBlue marketplace, as part of plans to provide cloud choice through the channel.

In addition to Microsoft Azure - a foundational partner upon launch - the distribution giant expects to add the remaining hyper-scale cloud providers “soon”, without detailing a specific time frame.

The end result will be a CloudBlue platform housing Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and IBM Cloud.

“They are all coming,” said Nimesh Davé, executive vice president of global cloud at Ingram Micro. “Our strategy is multi-cloud, it’s not around one specific vendor.

“We want to be agnostic which means that the four cornerstones of our strategy centre around Azure, GCP, AWS and IBM Cloud. In the end, you have to provide an environment that offers choice.”

Revealed to Channel Asia during Ingram Micro One in Singapore, Davé ruled out the addition of the next biggest player in the market, in the form of Alibaba Cloud.

Zacks, strangely enough now upgrades 8 to #2 buy, may be ready for a reversal -
8x8 (EGHT Quick QuoteEGHT - Free Report) has been on a downward spiral lately with significant selling pressure. After declining 27.4% over the past four weeks, the stock looks well positioned for a trend reversal as it is now in oversold territory and there is strong agreement among Wall Street analysts that the company will report better earnings than they predicted earlier.

There is a great Seeking Alpha article out that, sadly, says out loud what most investors/analysts are probably is it that this company can grow revenue at the pace that they are growing, and still not show a GAAP profit? How hard would they have to cut back to tip that balance in favor of profitability? The author notes that, once EGHT does become profitable, it will be a worthwhile investment. He, along with me, does not have faith that the company is committed to profitability, and that is the next hurdle that they must achieve.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - U.S. business software maker Oracle Corp is set to gain unconditional EU antitrust clearance for its $28.3 billion acquisition of U.S. healthcare IT company Cerner Corp, three people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.

Oracle announced the deal, its biggest ever, in December last year. It will give it access to a trove of data and could attract more healthcare clients to its cloud platform.

Cerner's data can help Oracle train and improve the software maker's artificial intelligence-based cloud services. The company, whose software traditionally ran in its customers' data centers, has started shifting its service to cloud computing providers.

The European Commission, which is scheduled to decide on the deal by June 1, and Oracle declined to comment.

Tech giants such as Microsoft Corp. have ramped up investments in the healthcare sector, spurred by demand for cloud-based solutions during the pandemic.

crn:"From Michael Dell And Hock Tan To VMware Project Monterey: 5 Key Things To Know

Broadcom could shake up the software industry with the potential acquisition of VMware, a $12 billion virtualization and hybrid cloud superstar that just recently became an independent company.

Multiple news outlets are reporting today that San Jose, Calif.-based Broadcom is currently in talks to purchase VMware, who’s Palo Alto, Calif.-based headquarters are located close to Broadcom. The deal is in the discussion phase, according to Bloomberg, which first reported the news.

Broadcom has a market cap of $212 billion, while VMware has a market capitalization of around $47 billion.

The deal would provide Broadcom with one of the largest enterprise software companies in the world as well as new technology to boost its semiconductor business. Broadcom is a global technology conglomerate with a wide range of products—from storage and networking devices to chips and sensors.

As data centers become even more critical to power cloud computing, VMware’s software strong position in the data center and push towards hybrid cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) is driving consistent sales growth. Both VMware and Broadcom have thousands of channel partners spanning the globe.

Financial investment firm Wells Fargo said today that VMware would make “strategic sense” for Broadcom.

“Investors have been increasingly focused on Broadcom’s appetite for another strategic or platform enterprise software acquisition—especially given the recent compression in software valuation,” said Wells Fargo analysts in a note today. “An acquisition of VMware would be considered as making strategic sense; consistent with Broadcom’s focus on building out a deepening enterprise infrastructure software strategy.”

It wouldn’t be the first time Broadcom has made a massive IT acquisition, and it wouldn’t be the first time VMware has been acquired by a larger technology giant.

From VMware Chairman and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell to recent acquisition comments from Broadcom CEO Hock Tan, CRN breaks down the five biggest and most important things to know about Broadcom’s potential acquisition of VMware."
