Finmeccanica to reconsider business in India if blacklisted

Italian defence company Leonardo Finmeccanica has threatened to reassess its business in India, a few days after New Delhi said it would blacklist the company over the alleged payment of bribes to win a large helicopter contract. Finmeccanica has distanced itself from the allegations, saying the case is against the individuals rather than the company, but India's defence minister said the company would be banned from future government tenders. Manohar Parrikar made the comments after India's top court allowed an Italian marine accused of murdering two fishermen to be freed and flown back to Italy in another case that has soured relations between the two countries.

Finmeccanica Eurofighter contract with Kuwait delayed - source

The completion of a contract for Italian defence group Finmeccanica (Other OTC: FINMF - news) to sell 28 Eurofighter jets to Kuwait has been delayed after first week of January, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday. Finmeccanica had originally expected to complete the deal in November, but that target was already put back to mid-December due to problems over pilot training and specialised personnel. The deal is worth up to 4 billion euros to Finmeccanica, sources close to the matter have told Reuters.
