I have to say I think Volvo (VOLAF) is now a better investment than 0175., because you strip out ICE and still retain Volvo and 49% Polestar who will be building the Polestar 3 in the USA and we've seen what happens to Rivian, Lucid etc....

So 0175 is only left with Zeekr (which i love) and Geometry which I know nothing about.

I am out on Monday and in on Volvo.

Following Gelyf is like riding on the Coney Island Cyclone. Just when you think it’s going to move up it does the opposite for no apparent reason.

What a wild ride!! Enjoy the moment, if you have the patience to watch it play out, it doesn’t get more fun then this.

    Great news!

    Also clears up the structure.

    0175.HK is the majority shareholder.

Geely Automobile Holdings, the Hong Kong-listed auto maker controlled by China billionaire Li Shufu, has agreed to pay 5.6 billion yuan, or $875 million, in cash and stock for an additional stake of approximately 10% in Zeekr Intelligent Technology that values the electric vehicle start-up at $9 billion.

Geely Automobile, one of China’s largest non-state-controlled automakers, would hold 54.5% of Ningbo-headquartered Zeekr on a fully diluted and as-converted basis after the transaction, according to a company announcement on Friday.

    Confusion -

GELYF - (the GEELY-branded car maker - often referred to as GEELY) - and the Parent (Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd), which “unfortunately” is also commonly referred as GEELY has created much confusion.

Second - the fact that GELYF PPS has risen from historic lows and has strongly held $3.30+ is somewhat remarkable especially in such a fierce competitive market amidst Chinese economy and through these past 2-years.

AND, may I add that they have NOT missed a dividend. So they are doing something right.

I believe they are pouring nearly every Penny back into R&D, expansion, partnerships, technology, all the while building partnerships and synergies to take them to the world stage as a dominant conglomerate - thus eventually making GEELY a household word.

Yeah - I am also one of those who at times have asked, “WHEN IS THIS THING GOING TO TAKE OFF” and make me a boatload of profit on my shares ?

However, the bottom line is that there is much consolidation ahead in the auto industry and GEELY is IMO sitting in the catbird seat ready to absorb the lion’s portion - why ?

They have massive infrastructure, deep supply lines in place, they more nimble manufacturing (more facilities) that can absorb and turn on a dime to accommodate such consolidation.

They are ready to explode into the limelight and GEELY AUTO will be the beneficiary in all the ways mentioned above and emerge as the darling of Zheijang with share price increases as well JMHO -

Any ideas out there why Geely is doing so terrible YTD? It seems the last week or so most chinese auto companies are going up, but that "most" does not include Geely, as it is down 6% (down almost 5% tonight in HK) during the last 5 trading days, and down 8% during this week?

And no! With 30,000 shares I am not bashing this company, but rather just wondering if anyone has any interesting and valid ideas as to why we are down 25% YTD? Is there a moment when enough is enough? Been holding this stock for more years than I care to count, just waiting for that big moment when Geely will finally make the lonnnnnng wait worthwhile, but it seems I will be lond-dead by the time this company finally makes their share holders seem a bit smart, if ever.

Just like most of you guys just like to pump the stock, how about some serious and valid comments? And remember, WE ARE NOT Geely the holding company, we are just Geely, the automobile company; Volvo and the other brands held by the holding company do not help our stock in any way.

Polestar has 86 retail locations across its 14 markets, up from 40 at the end of 2020, with recent additions including facilities in New York City and Boston in the US. Expansion is expected to continue rapidly there: 25 US locations are already planned by the end of the year.

For Geely, the Zeekr brand could be a turning point in China, where the company is lagging in terms of New Energy Vehicle sales.

In October, the company (including Lynk & Co brand, but excluding Volvo and Polestar) sold just 7,909 New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), which includes also hybrids, which is just 7% of the total volume.

n the further development of the product portfolio, Polestar had recently confirmed some details about the upcoming models. Already known is the Polestar 3 electric SUV, which will be built in the US along with the electric Volvo XC90. This vehicle is expected in 2022 and is expected to have a target range of 600+ kilometres. In terms of price, the Polestar 3 will be similar to a Porsche Cayenne.

Seems to be some hand wringing regarding GEELY parent Company and the mutual benefits of varied subordinate parts to each other -

First, we must remember that the deep pocket (and institutional investors) are keenly aware of the corporate structure surrounding the publicly traded shares of GEELY AUTOMOTIVE and are not throwing money at the wind unknowingly -

Also - The strengths, the partnerships, synergies, manufacturing agreements, and future value of GEELY AUTO are all for real -

Last - we know that one successful arm of a parent company washes the hands of the other arms by way of shared technology, shared markets, shared name recognition, shared manufacturing architecture, shared supplier pipelines, and too many other entwined corporate relationships to even mention here.

Well they certainly have big plans!

    https://autonews.gasgoo.com/m/70019057.html

If they can achieve half of this.

I think the big problem is they still are working on the basis 89% of cars in China will still be ICE. The adoption is happening much quicker than that. In October 20% of ALL cars sakes in China were NEVS. By 2025???
