    GOF's financial report is out!
Payout ratio without ROC (Return of Capital) is 88%
    with ROC is 140%+

    Income/Dividends:
Distributions to shareholders: -$99,989,607 (more then double last year)
ROC: $-74,976,235 (20K more then last year)
    Total: $-174,976,235

Made $112,609,723 in Investment income which covers the dividend if ROC isn't included (ROC is our own cash being given back to us)

Total GOF Return for May 2021 - May 2022:
    $-127,148,831

I really like this fund for income but still worry about dividend sustainability. I know they have never cut the dividend but there is always a chance they will. They said it themselves in a document I received from Guggenheim.Saying dividend is not guaranteed. Is decided by the board every month.

I messed up. I wanted to buy more shares. I had a golden opportunity to do it in mid-July and I failed to "go for it."

Will be buying more shares of GOF with tomorrow's distribution which I have done each month this year. As a result, my monthly GOF income is up over 8% YTD and that's with no additional investment from outside funding, only distribution reinvesting. Just keep feeding the beast at no additional cost.

GOF goes up when 10 year Treasury yield goes down, and it has gone significantly in recent days. Reflects view that there will be a recession and long term interest rates will fall with decreased demand (higher unemployment). All good for GOF.

Normally I don't invest in funds with 20% premium but this fund seems to maintain that NAV spread. Why is it at such a premium consistently?
  • R
    Robert
No if you buy on ex dividend date you are not eligible for dividend.

NAV Is at 13.30. I’m looking to add to my position under 15.
