Bottom line---Stock is trading ON FEAR not on actual SPOT prices....Fear and anxiety of what prices will look like in Dec/Jan....I am BUYING the stock based on what prices they are getting today and likely tomorrow. I can NOT predict the future so I will go on what I see

Ok Capes are now under $40K. Not a big deal. This company was at close to $12 with Capes at $35K so all of this FEAR is unnecessary. I just added another 1K in shares. I am running out of powder and clean shorts I will admit.... I was planning on adding more shares in about 2 weeks time before earnings but with this price being so low I have to add add and be cash poor....

Its almost AS IF July to Now to NEVER HAPPENED. And that we didn't have MASSIVE PROFITS...and that rates are still not great....and that we will soon not need any ships because the earth as we know has ended

Again, same thing happening here with BDI , as with HBI (used in steel making}. Price skyrocketed as in BDI, pricce started on downward spiral as HBI did recently. CLF, X, NUE, all the big steelmakers went down. I have CLF and X. CLF from 26-teens, X from 26 to low 20`s. What happened? Earnings happened. Blowout earnings. Then conference calls. NUE and CLF presidents said next year as good or BETTER than this year, when a week or so ago they were left for dead. They croaked earnings. Today. Investors Business Daily says TIME TO BUY CLF! Same things going to happen here with GOGL when earnings come out and GOGL throws a big divvy in the face of these naysayers, then says we will be making boatloads of money next year too. Or should I say a shipload of money.

I am not worried about GOGL specifically. All bulk shippers hit the skids since early October. So the only question that matters to myself is what does 2022 look like?

    1) Is shipping needed? Yes More than in 2021? Yes b/c growing GDP world over including China
    2) Are commodities getting more expensive? Yes because demand is increasing and supplies are tighter which means #1 applies more than in 2021.
    3) Are there going to more ships than needed? No scrapping is up as Firms demand better newbuilds going forward and scrapping values are increasing.
    4) Are SHARE PRICES undervalued or overvalued? Clearly undervalued as prices dont reflect the nice price increases from July to October. Also the value of boats are up which means the value of our fleet has appreciated more than it depreciated last year.

----so for these easy reasons I am staying LONG and STRONG. I am a HODL

Headline story from today's Lloyds List:

High dry bulk rates may last through to 2024

"The dry bulk market has benefited from trade disputes and inefficiencies. It has also been supported by the containerisation effect amid low fleet growth

Drewry estimates that dry bulk demand growth will outstrip supply growth in the coming years, with the potential for heavy scrapping in 2024 providing further support"

We will be green end of day, just like yesterday. Once November earnings draw closer we climb back up to 12. Two analysts on my etrade. Wainwright has $13 tag , and the well-respected Cleaves of Norway has $18

I can't stop buying now...Jesus H Christopher...Just because we are at $40s for Capes we are not hurting for profits people...

Consider at $10.50 share price we were at $31 K capes and $0.25 dividends and had yet to know we would be earnings (NOW actually EARNED) on Capes in the $80K range....

I guess I will just be talking to myself here

These shipping stocks are following the exact same pattern as steel stocks. Nucor just reported $7.28 for THE QUARTER! Stock is down pre-market. X estimates $4.85 for quarter. They are all being downgraded. Cliffs , biggest , will be debt free end of next year. Cliffs going to earn about $3.5 for year and no debt next year. Shippers in same boat. Printing money. Analysts answer is party is over, Going to crash and burn next year. Then they hedge their bets stating MAYBE it will be a little longer. EGLE estimates $5.43 for quarter. It`s so much money its laughable. Why aren`t I laughing?

GOGL is making some solid decision, including fleet renewall. I believe their payment of large portion of FCF to DIV payout is mistaken, and would be better served either buying back shares (they issued a huge amount of equity at this time early $5/sh to fund their fleet expansion).

The divs are clearly not supporting the share price, and therefore fails in one objective....to allow the company to issue new shares that are above NAV and accretive for fleet renewal.

How about that? I got to sell 2% of my shares today. It was hard to pull the trigger but I was able to stick to my plan which is to BUY the % down and to sell the % up from this price and UP. That is with my shares to trade---MY BASE stays untouched until 2023 for now...

Gogl sells two, and commits to buying 4 (now 7 on order).

The fact they GOGL has found slots in China yards for 7 vessels, all to deliver in late 2023
should be a warning that the low order book argument is tenuous, since other also can begin loading the order book.

One assumes that GOGL has done their homework on the ISO requirements, and that these new vessels will meet the expected standards. That issue too had been argued to be holding back orders...but not for GOGL (or SB).

I would suggest everyone take a look at an interview on youtube with Joakim Hannisdahl, former head of research at Cleaves Securities, who recently left to start his own shipping hedge fund. It provides insight into his thinking and explains at least in part the somewhat puzzling trading action we are now witnessing. Search Christopher Vonheim on youtube

Also, I saw a recent comments from John Wobensmith, CEO of Genco $GNK, about shipping share prices being held back by 2 main things in his opinion: (1) PE currently selling out after a decade plus of not-so-positive ownership and (2) the gripe from new institutional investors about lack of consistent dividends and strong doubt about shippers ability to pay dividends in bad times due to overleverage. He does continue to say though he believes there's never been a better time i the past couple decades for shippers to repair their balance sheets and begin having share prices based more on cash flows than NAV's

In the Sept 2021 company slide deck, they indicate ~ $12K cash break even for the fleet overall, including debt service.

At a fleet average TCE of $55,000/day, their annualized FCF is ~ $1.5B.

Whole no one expects them to have 12-months of such outsized FCF, it is quite possible that Q4 will meet that, yield nearly $400M in FCF alone for Q4.

If that were paid to shareholders, we are talking $2/sh dividend. It makes sense for them to use some of this incredible FCF to as reserve to pay for their 3 NBs, but that cost is only on the order of $120M or so.

Bottom line, with their intention to pay the vast majority of FCF to shareholders, I would expect Q3 dividend to be increased from 0.50/sh to 0.75/sh, and then Q4 to be increased to $1.50/sh. That would leave them enough cash to virtually pay in full for their new vessels.

BDI fell for 5th straight day yesterday, probably why stock has "sunk". Capes "capsized", down $4359. I wouldn`t "abandon ship", though as cape rates are still over $70,000. "Schooner" or later when earnings come out we will all be happy.
A pirate walks into a bar with a ship’s steering wheel in his pants.

The bartender says: “Hey, did you know you’ve got a steering wheel in your pants?”

“Aye, sir that it be, “says the pirate, “it’s driving me nuts!”
Why do pirates have such a hard time remembering the alphabet?

    They get lost at “C”.

    and finally
What does GOGL give to a sick vessel?
Why vitamin "sea" of course !
