What Led to Rise in Invesco’s Total Assets under Management?

Invesco Limited (IVZ) is expected to witness a rise in its base fees primarily because of the uptrend in the total assets under management (or AUM). The acquisition of Guggenheim primarily helped Invesco’s April 2018 AUM. Compared to the first quarter, the second quarter will likely be better for asset managers (XLF) like State Street (STT), T. Rowe Price (TROW), and BlackRock (BLK) primarily because of the market’s performance.

Invesco Perpetual under fire from veteran investment chairman over fees

Funds firm Invesco Perpetual came under fire from the chairman of an investment trust it ran for nearly 20 years on Tuesday after the two sides fell out over fees. Donald Adamson, chairman of Enhanced Income trust, run by Invesco since 1999, said Invesco was “out of touch” in its attempt to kick him off the board because of the spat. Invesco resigned from running the trust a month ago after Adamson’s board tried to renegotiate fees paid to the company.

Bond Traders Can Lie to Customers Again

Yesterday Jesse Litvak—the former Jefferies Group LLC mortgage-backed securities trader who was convicted of defrauding clients, got his conviction reversed, was convicted again, and went to prison—got his conviction reversed again. Litvak, remember, was a mortgage-bond trader who would buy bonds from one customer, sell them to another customer, and lie to one or both customers about the price he was getting on the other side. Litvak canvassed the interest in those bonds from his customers, and had one customer—Brian Norris at Invesco Ltd.—who wanted to buy a particular bond on the list.
