The drip resulted in an additional 615.46 shares at $2.85 per share with an 18.95% dividend.

Today is dividend day for ORC. Of course those dividends ($1754.06 this month in my case) won’t be invested until tomorrow. Do you figure brokerages make a whole lot of money holding dividend money overnight?

Next month it will be an additional 625 shares. It’s like a rolling snowball!

Another of my favorite monthly payers is PSEC. Buy now and get over 10% dividend with very little down side. Caution: I’m not an advisor!

Housing Update 6/27:: Quickly, I wanted to share what's been reported on CNBC business news today regarding rentals. According to a report, about 8M people are facing issues with paying escalating rentals in the US. The majority of that % are "behind" in paying their rent for at least 1 month. What does all this say? Well, folks are feeling the squeeze on both sides as rentals & mortgage payers which tells me that we're in a supercycle of sorts where there's not enough available homes and the rentals sector is Not any better if you're paying $3,000 for a 2BR in a small apt or condo in NY or Florida. As I've shared ad nauseam, to combat inflation in housing we need Home Affordability to improve. In order for it to improve we need new homes built. There's been an issue with home development bc of labor shortage and commodity prices at historical levels for lumber, steel etc thus driving higher Asking prices for newly built homes. Do you see the full picture? So again, we're in this conundrum for the next 18 months which now we must take into account that this will linger. The Fed will try to drive interest hikes but it wont stop inflation in that way. The point is the REITs will make a huge turnaround once the macros improve. All stocks have been hammered the last 3 wks so seeing ORC drive back up again, is tremendous resilience. Invest at these discounts today so tomorrow you'll reap the benefits of huge growth. ORC & AGNC will be fine for now...

You can make more swing trading ORC than going long collecting the dividend. They like most monthlies have a set pattern, figure it out banking .25-.40 cents instead of .045

Entire market is down. Not just ORC. It’s the hike that’s coming thus the massive selloff. Some predict around 50 to 75 pts.

Dividends were designed to SHARE THE PROFITS from corporations with those who paid for EVERYTHING. A cut of the PIE. Well since ronald reagan ushered in CREATIVE FINANCINGS. (like the multiple seconds and 3rd, 4th,
DEEDS or debts on all properties.) DEBT is a dilution as are rev. splits and SPO's. All trickster gimmicks to hose investors and pay insiders. Bonuses too.

Question for sincere investors / traders here, not trolls: If the Fed funds rate increases by 75 bps again in July and Sept, does that mean the repo rate will surpass the yield on MBS which translates to the spread for ORC = Zero = No dividend??? ( I'm repeating what I read elsewhere, but don't completely understand how this works, so any clear and specific explanation would be appreciated. )
