For perspective, the current drop if it holds is akin to three months of dividends.

I’m looking at this stock for my IRA. I’m retired and looking for a good dividend. Analyst seem to have very different views of this stock if it’s a buy or not. I worry about the share price declining too much. Comments welcome

This is being short sold. I'm about to dump some serious coin into this. That price is too good to pass up.

In the CC last month, Cauley stated that ORC was significantly hedged against the interest rate increasing during the 2nd quarter. Well, since the end of Q1, the 10 yr rate has fallen from 1.74% to 1.53%, so if those hedges were in place, they are big time losers –just like they are 90% of the time.
This company continually pays it dividend (outside pandemic time) so I stick with it; but they pay someone to devise these loser hedges policy. They need to hire someone else or just stop hedging.

I'm thinking that I will increase my holding in ORC to $1,000,000. I'm thinking that with a yearly dividend of $140,000 and retirement income of $110,000 I'll be OK. I'm moving to Peru!

Anyone have an theory as to why the long bond has remained stable to lower for the last 3 months?
All the CNBC talking heads are talking up increasing rates, have been doing so for months.
Seems like a reasonable assumption, at least the way they present the "facts."
Could it be that last quarter's 84bp rise in the 10 year note l was enough for this quarter?

Hey guys, I have a question for ya. I was reading their 10k and they say that higher interest rates could adversely affect their stock. I thought during periods with higher interest rates that REITs always tended to do better. Is this a stock I would want to continue to hold once the Fed acts?
