COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -Denmark's Orsted has no intention of opening a rouble account in Russia to accommodate Moscow's demand for gas payments in the Russian currency, the energy firm's CEO said on Friday, but declined to comment on payment in other currencies. Orsted sold its oil and gas assets in 2017 to focus on offshore wind energy but retains a long-term gas deal with Russia's Gazprom which runs until 2030.
COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -Denmark's Orsted said on Monday it had agreed to sell half of the Hornsea 2 project in Britain, which will become the world's biggest offshore wind farm, to a French consortium for 3 billion pounds ($3.94 billion). The French consortium comprises AXA IM Alts, a unit of France's biggest insurer AXA, and Credit Agricole Assurances, which will each own 25% it said. The stake will be funded through a combination of equity and a senior multi-tranche staple financing package, which has been structured by Orsted and is provided by 30 banks including Denmark's export credit agency.
Orsted said the around 9 billion Danish crown ($1.41 billion) price of the transaction includes the acquisition of a 50% ownership share and a commitment to fund 50% of the payments under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the entire wind farm. Borkum Riffgrund 3 will be located in the German North Sea and is expected to be commissioned in 2025, according to the company. Under the terms of the deal, Orsted said it will construct the wind farm under a full-scope EPC contract and provide operations and maintenance services along with a route to market for power generated by the development.
