The only news I see is PAGS released 3Q earnings on their website yesterday. Goldman gives positive comments:

PagSeguro operating data shows 'healthy growth', says Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs analyst Tito Labarta keeps his Buy rating and $68 price target on PagSeguro, stating that the company's operating data for Q3 shows "strong" consolidated TVP growth of 85%, with total PagBank active users also growing 83%. The operating data should lead to healthy revenue trends in the quarter, but the main question from investors has been around the impact of higher interest rates on PagSeguro's financial expenses and margins, Labarta adds.

Brazilian government proposed a bill to limit interchange fees on prepaid card transactions. Represents 60-70% of PagBank revenue, which is only 5-6% of PAGS total revenue. Seems like a massive overreaction, so maybe there is something else. Anyone have anything else? Ha

PagSeguro recent selloff may be overdone, says Goldman Sachs After speaking with PagSeguro Digital management regarding the news of the Brazilian Central Bank considering a cap for interchange fees on prepaid card transactions, Goldman Sachs analyst Tito Labarta said the company's comments imply that such a contemplated cap on pre-paid interchange fees would impact revenue by around 3% and pre-tax earnings by around 13%. These are below his initial estimates of 5% and 22%, respectively, and he thinks the recent selloff in the stock may be overdone, Labarta tells investors. He maintains a Buy rating and $64 price target on PagSeguro shares.

I think one of the big whale investor are selling out, and it pulls some sell off. The fundamentals of the company looks fine and the growth still in the right direction...see recent Q3 results. Just hope that PAGS and STNE can handle the growing inflation in Brazil. But higher inflation typically results in rising interest rates and this, in turn, can help financial institutions boost their net interest income and earnings.

In a 5-10 year perspective this will be a paypal/square position. I have great faith in this in the long run.

I see a lot of people confused about the drop today. It's the most simple reason there is. I bought it at the open. My apologies.

Investors in PagSeguro Digital Ltd. (PAGS Quick QuotePAGS - Free Report) need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the Nov 19, 2021 $55.00 Put had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today.

PagSeguro Pares Slump After Denying $3 Billion Takeover Report.By Vinicius Andrade and Felipe Marques

Brazilian payment processor PagSeguro Digital Ltd. pared losses after denying reports that it was negotiating the purchase of lender Banco BV.

PagSeguro “does not intend to acquire Banco BV and there are no related signed agreements to do so,” the firm said in a filing. Shares of the company, which is controlled by Brazilian billionaire Luiz Frias, trimmed their decline after sinking as much as 19% in New York.
Earlier Thursday, local news website Brazil Journal reported PagSeguro was in final talks to buy Banco BV for 16 billion reais ($3 billion), citing anonymous sources. The stock slumped, with analysts, including Bradesco BBI’s Otavio Tanganelli, wondering how the two businesses would fit together and calling the reported price tag expensive. While PagSeguro has made a business out of selling payments technology to small and micro merchants, with a recent venture into digital banking catering to the same clientele, Banco BV has a different focus. The bank specializes in vehicle financing, particularly used cars, with 121 billion reais in assets as of last March and a 13% return on equity for the first quarter of 2021. It also does corporate financing and owns stakes in smaller financial technology firms.

PagBank, PagSeguro’s digital banking unit, has been doing well on its own. PagBank could contribute about 40% of PagSeguro’s revenue by 2025, up from 8% in 2020, Morgan Stanley analysts including Jorge Kuri wrote in a May report.

I watch this drop for few days. Good Entry point, but was also wondering about why such huge drop. What I found on their website, translated to English, was not bad news, just management changes:

    PagSeguro Announces Senior Management Changes
São Paulo, October 8, 2021 — PagSeguro Digital Ltd., or PagSeguro (NYSE: PAGS),
announced that PagSeguro’s Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Alexandre Magnani as Chief
Operating Officer (COO), reporting to Mr. Ricardo Dutra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr.
Magnani has been working at PagSeguro since January 2015, acting as the Director of the
company’s Sales and International Financial Services, including leadership in sales, acquiring
business and e-commerce, among other areas. Before joining PagSeguro, Mr. Magnani worked
for nearly 15 years at Mastercard International, leading their Latin American regional new
business development and retailer issuers initiatives
