David Wajsgras, an executive at Waltham-based defense contractor Raytheon Co., saw his total compensation jump by nearly $7 million to a total of $12.5 million in 2016, according to a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Wajsgras is president of Raytheon's Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) business, which focuses on cybersecurity, sensors and imaging technology, and guidance systems for ships and aircraft. The big boost in Wajsgras' earnings came largely from an increase in the accumulated value of his pension benefits, which was triggered because he has been employed at Raytheon for 10 years.
