A move is underway to require the sale of a shuttered MillerCoors brewery in Rockingham County as part of a merger between the nation’s two largest brewers, Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller , one of the former owners of MillerCoors, which took place in October. The hope is that move would result in the reopening — and the hiring of hundreds of workers — at the former brewery in Eden. The MillerCoors brand is now a wholly owned unit of Molson Coors Brewing Co. of Denver, also effective in October.

Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) won't award bonuses to CEO Carlos Brito and CFO Felipe Dutra, as the world's largest brewer saw its first decline in core earnings since it was formed in 2004. A-B InBev said in its quarterly earnings release Thursday that most of its executive board would not get bonuses. The company reported that its fourth-quarter EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) fell 33 percent, its first decline in the key measure since InBev was founded through the merger of Belgium's Interbrew and Brazil's AmBev, MarketWatch reports .
