Italian glasses maker Safilo and German fashion house Hugo Boss have agreed the early renewal of a licensing deal until the end of 2030, Safilo said on Thursday. "In just a few years we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our partnership which began back in 2006," Safilo Chief Executive Angelo Trocchia said in the statement.
Italian eyewear maker Safilo said on Thursday it was ending a licensing agreement with top fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni, who has come under fire for misleading advertising on charity initiatives. The multi-year deal for the design, production, and distribution of Chiara Ferragni-branded glasses was interrupted "following the violation of contractual commitments undertaken by the brand owner," Safilo said in a statement. Ferragni's press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Italian eyewear group Safilo is in advanced talks with French luxury house LVMH's Thelios unit over the sale of its plant in the northeastern town of Longarone, the group said on Monday. The maker of frames for Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger said in a statement that negotiations with spectacles maker Thelios were aimed at preserving the plant's know-how and keeping a "significant number" of its employees.
