Company logged an excellent quarter, but market yawns. Solid operator, recovering industry, and trading below book value--easy buy here...

Things are moving now. I think this is still one of the most undervalued airline stocks.

Crude oil down. Flight statistics up. COVID Restrictions easing. People travelling more. Airline stock prices at lows. I don't know how much more you need to be long.

Trading under book value as air travel is recovering; makes no sense. The pilot shortage is overrated. Stay long...

Wanted to share my insight on this SKYW conversation which is not well attended. I am fine with the fact that there is very little volume in this stock and that the media coverage the company receives is very limited. By the time everyone wakes-up and sees that this stock should NOT be trading in lockstep with the majors and/or discount airlines there should be significant upside ready to be quickly made since SKYW has been trading to a discount to what it actually should be. I have many opinions on why:
    1) 87% of revenue is pay for performance with very little margin risk.
    2) Ridiculous amount of cash-on-hand and other liquidity options from unpledged assets compared to what recurring fixed-costs they have.
    3) Rural destinations that are not as affected from the lack of future business travel (As compared to major metropolitans).
    4) Dominated by domestic travel without the international Covid restrictions.
    5) Management throwing everything negative they can at their financial statements over the last 2 quarters including:
5a) Accelerated depreciation on planes that was unnecessary
5b) Deferring revenue (but not the costs) on business that should have been included in Q2 results (and improperly applying FASB606 in my opinion), and
5c) Not taking into effect any of the positive CARES money that all of their competitors did show as a plus in their earnings.

At some point, Management is actually going to have to show the street how well they they are doing financially and the gig will be up (in addition to the stock)!

Yes, I am long on SKYW and I have Call Options too. For all of the reasons above (and many more unstated) I am extremely bullish on this equity.

Market is forward looking. Short term may be painful but first half of 2021 will be much better than last half of 2020. People will get vaccinated and travel will be safe again. Business travel will take a hit for good because of zoom meeting but companies like Skywest, Spirit, southwest (All low cost airlines) will get back their customers. The added debt may affect earning for a few quarters but stock will get back to their highs ultimately.
Just when they went down quickly when the near term future was blink, they will go back as fast with the future looking promising. Don't try to time it by waiting for drops... The trend will be up and you will miss it by watching and waiting for the lows.

    Friday's coordinated airline short fails*

A group of shorts thought that significant airline insider selling in February, combined with the decline provoked by increasing bond yields on Friday, was a very good sign to sell airlines. By 11:30 eastern, the trend reversed after realizing that since over 50% of U.S. 65 year olds have been vaccinated, the Covid-19 mortality rate was effectively cut by 40%. *This is just my opinion of course.

Warren Buffett has gotten Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A, BRK-B) out of the airline business.

During a virtual address to shareholders for the company’s annual shareholders meeting Saturday, the chairman and CEO called Berkshire’s recent purchase of roughly 10% of four of the world's largest airlines — including American (AAL), United (UAL), Delta (DAL) and Southwest (LUV) — an “understandable mistake.”

But the company has sold out of its entire interest in the airlines, worth at least $4 billion. In doing so, the Oracle of Omaha admitted to a rare investment misstep, one that’s he pinned on the coronavirus crisis hammering the global economy.

“The world changed for airlines,” the influential investor said at the meeting.

“It turned out that I was wrong about that business because of something that was not in any way the fault of four excellent CEOs,” Buffett said of COVID-19’s shock to air travel — adding that there was “no joy” in managing those companies right now. Yahoo Finance

Investors I’m telling you the keys to success is to see one year in advance... Seriously think about where the world will stand in 2022... Will the traveling be in high demand next spring??? Will it be the craziest Spring Break ever??? Will people want to drive in grid locked traffic??? Family reunions will be a main priority for 95% of the world population.....

All airlines will return to pre COVID-19 days....
