AT&T says it has resolved an outage that left some customers in the dark on Tuesday.
Mobile phone customers were experiencing a widespread disruption in service on Tuesday that prevented callers from connecting to people who weren’t on the same cellular network. While reports described it as an AT&T outage, the wireless carrier said that characterization wasn’t accurate. “Our network is not experiencing a nationwide outage,” an AT&T spokesperson said.
AT&T said late on Tuesday that an issue that had prevented making some calls to other wireless carriers had been resolved. Earlier, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile said they were all experiencing issues with some calls between carriers. Some customers in multiple states had said they were unable to complete calls, prompting the Federal Communications Commission to investigate.
