Both the Taylor Wimpey CEO and Chairman bought a large sum of Taylor Wimpey shares this week. This course of action hopes to shore up investor sentiment amid slowing house price growth.
Both Halifax’s and Nationwide’s data continue to show that house prices are on the rise. However, both companies have forecasted a cooling of house price growth as we head into winter. In fact, the cracks are already starting to mount. Since the second half of April, around one in 20 properties have had price reductions of 5% or more. This is an increase from one in 22 properties from March, sending the Taylor Wimpey share price lower.
Housebuilder shares have taken a hit this year, and Taylor Wimpey is no exception. So, here's why the Taylor Wimpey share price is down 25%.

One of the best builders I work for. Quality of build is on the up, they’re winning awards and H&S very good. They also have very good relations with contractors. At 120 they’re a great long term buy. Realistically probably take a year for recovery but I think their next results might be much better than expected. Get in now while half price.

The government's is in the process of formulating legislation to force PLC developers to compensate house buyers for mis selling leaseholds for properties that should have been freehold..This will amount to 100s of millions in compensation, and bring the share price down to single digits..Watch this space.

Shares in this housebuilder are down around 25% this year. Despite these near-term challenges, the long-term outlook for the UK housing market remains attractive. I'm buying the dip

Anyone else think that at 119 Taylor Wimpey is a good midterm investment? Their recent share raise of GBP 515 million, to fund land purchases at low Covid prices suggests confidence in the future UK property prices.
D
CEO surprisingly sold £120,000 worth of shares at a low £1,08 price on 18/09/21...This does not augar well for medium term future of the company and its shareholders.
