Aerial Footage Shows Extent of La Palma Lava Flow, a Month Into Eruptions

Drone footage from Wednesday, October 20, shows the extent of the lava flow from La Palma’s Cumbre Vieja volcano, a month after eruptions began.

The most powerful earthquake since the volcano’s first eruption on September 19 hit La Palma on Tuesday night, Spain’s Institute of Geosciences (CSIC-UCM) said.

This drone footage, posted the Council of La Palma, shows swathes of land covered in the volcano’s pyroclastic flow. Credit: Cabildo de La Palma via Storyful
