Alisal Fire Grows Past 17,000 Acres in Santa Barbara County

The Alisal Fire burning in Santa Barbara County grew past 17,000 acres, authorities reported on Saturday, October 16.

This footage, released by the Santa Barbara Fire Department, shows a plane dropping flame retardant on Friday near the western reaches of the fire.

Officials ordered evacuations this week near where the fire was burning, to the west of the City of Santa Barbara. Other areas were put under evacuation warnings.
