Amazon jumps on earnings, Fed decision nears: Yahoo Finance

Amazon (AMZN) shares are higher this morning after the company's first-quarter earnings topped expectations. The company reported net sales rose 13% year-over-year. On the earnings front, we hear from several other big names today, including Pfizer (PFE), CVS (CVS), Mastercard (MA), Qualcomm (QCOM), Etsy (ETSY), and MGM Resorts (MGM). It will all be overshadowed by the Federal Reserve decision at 2 p.m. ET. The central bank is expected to hold rates steady at a range of 5.25% to 5.5%.
