Yahoo Finance Amazon's Bezos and Jassy to testify to FTC, NY housing prices plateau, Ted Lasso joins FIFA 23 game

JULIE HYMAN: Let's get down to business now. A look at some of the other stories making headlines in business and beyond. Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos and current CEO Andy Jassy are, indeed, going to have to testify before the Federal Trade Commission. That's as the agency investigates whether Amazon was deceptive in signing customers up for Prime.
The company's lawyers had asked for the men to not be required to testify, arguing they weren't closely associated with the signup process. The FTC, which is also alleging that Amazon made it difficult for customers to cancel Amazon Prime service, began the probe back in March of 2021. It is unclear when Bezos and Jassy might testify.
New York City housing prices are cooling, along with the weather, here in the big city. Rents are beginning to plateau with new leases down about 50 bucks from highs hit in July. That's according to August data from Miller Samuel and Douglas Elliman. August is the busiest time of the year for the city's rental market-- makes sense. And rents are still remaining higher than they were in pre-pandemic levels.
And "Ted Lasso" is making the jump from television to video game. The newest EA-produced soccer simulation stalwart series, "FIFA 23," will introduce Ted Lasso in the fictional team AFC Richmond as playable managers and teams alongside other real world contemporaries. The transplant comes after an agreement between game developer EA and Warner Brothers, which helps produce and distribute the Apple TV hit. Like, will they make the team be sort of bad, then turning good, like it does on the show? I don't know how they figure out, like, how good they are.
BRAD SMITH: Oh, it's all part of one of the player development tracks, of course, here. We'll see. We'll see how it plays out.
