Animals Go Wild for Black Pepper at San Antonio Zoo in Texas

Animals at the San Antonio Zoo in Texas got a kick out of the scent of black pepper, engaging in sensory enrichment while investigating the spice.

This video, which the zoo said was filmed on August 15, shows a clouded leopard, a fishing cat, and a fossa reacting to the pepper.

“Many of our cat species are big fans of the scent of black pepper, and enjoy rolling around in it,” wrote the zoo to Storyful. “Sensory enrichment is important as it allows them to exercise their curiosity by investigating new sights, smells, and tastes.” Credit: San Antonio Zoological Society via Storyful
