AOC Says She Had 'Close Encounter Where I Thought I Was Going To Die' During DC Violence

New York Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she had a “close encounter where I thought I was going to die” during the violence at the US Capitol on January 6.

Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks during an Instagram Live post in the early hours of January 13. She sad she did not know if she could give full details of the incident for “security reasons”.

“I had a pretty traumatizing event happen to me,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die.”

She went on to say: “I did not know if I was going to make it to the end of that day alive, and not just in a general sense but also in a very, very specific sense.”

In the post, Ocasio-Cortez also called President Donald Trump a traitor to the US. She also strongly criticized GOP senators such as Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. Credit: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez via Storyful
