Applause as 104-Year-Old Coronavirus Patient Leaves Hospital

A 104-year-old woman who contracted coronavirus twice has been released from hospital to a round of applause in Tunja, Colombia.

This footage, sent to Storyful on April 7, shows the woman, identified by media as Doña Carmen, leaving the hospital.

The grandmother, referred to affectionately by hospital staff as Carmelita, was the facility’s oldest patient, they said.

Local news reports said she first contracted the coronavirus in June 2020 and again in March 2021. Credit: Hospital San Rafael Tunja via Storyful
