Author Lauren Groff creates a medieval matriarchy for the ages in 'Matrix'

Author Lauren Groff's desire to run away to a "lesbian utopia" during the Trump administration was the unexpected spark for her latest novel, "Matrix", which plunges readers into the lives of nuns in medieval England.
