Bay Area Slammed With Heavy Rainfall

Northern California found itself in the crosshairs of a powerful “atmospheric river” on the morning of October 24, as heavy rainfall moved into the region.

As of Sunday morning, more than two inches of rain had fallen over the previous 24 hours in San Francisco, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Higher totals were reported in Santa Rosa and elevated areas north of San Francisco. The storm system was also expected to dump feet of snow at higher altitudes in the Sierra Nevada.

Bay Area transit authorities reported disruptions to service due to the weather.
