'Blah, Blah, Blah': Greta Thunberg Takes Aim at World Leaders' Climate Rhetoric

Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg took aim at world leaders’ climate rhetoric at the Youth4Climate summit in Milan, Italy, on September 28, describing it as “words that sound great but so far has led to no action.”

This video by Ferdinando Cotugno shows Thunberg dismiss “Build Back Better”, a plan name used by leaders and prominent figures across the world to describe their post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery plans, including UK and New Zealand prime ministers Boris Johnson and Jacinda Ardern, and US President Joe Biden.

“Build back better, blah, blah, blah,” the teen activist says in the video. “Green economy, blah, blah, blah.”

Thunberg’s comments came ahead of the COP26 conference set to be held in Glasgow this November. Credit: Ferdinando Cotugno via Storyful
