Bronx-Bound Commuters Delayed After Train Hits Debris in New York City Subway

Bronx-bound commuters were delayed in New York after a train hit debris at 161 St station on October 18.

Local services were resumed an hour later after debris was removed, the New York City Transit Authority said.

This video posted to Twitter by Mephiman shows passengers disembarking from the train.

“After the sudden jerk on the train and announcement, we was asked if anyone wanted to get off on 161,” Mephiman told Storyful. “I was one of the few who left through the front cart and felt the slant of the train as if it was on something, I’m hoping it really was a barricade and nothing worse.” Credit: Mephiman via Storyful
