Burst your bubble? Watch the Dare To Compare challenge pit two neighbours against each other to see who’s saving more on household bills

OK, we’ll admit it: we’re all a bit curious about our neighbours (and jealous they’ve got a new hot tub this week). Turns out, we can see how their bills stack up against ours. That’s what Dare To Compare host, comedian Russell Kane, asks southeast Londoners and real-life neighbours Judy, a health food business owner and Silvia, an architect, to do. Using Compare The Market’s Neighbourhood Bills Calculator, which tallies up costs like broadband compared to the neighbourhood average, Silvia comes out on top by paying less than the local average for contents insurance. This video shows the neighbours battling it out in the Balloon Burst challenge, where they have to pop as many balloons as they can to find the golden deal star (Judy has an extra 10 to get through as a penalty for overspending). The winner gets £100 off their next bill (plus a signed self-portrait of Kane). On your marks, get set… and avoid bill shock this Christmas.
