Canadian Military Supports Fight Against British Columbia Wildfires

Firefighters continued to battle wildfires in British Columbia, Canada, on Friday, July 21, that forced the evacuation of over 40,000 residents.

The Toronto Star reported on Friday that 225 soldiers had been deployed to Williams Lake to support the work of firefighters and police in delivering aid and helping residents evacuate. Military aircraft had already been used to detect the spread of the wildfires using infrared cameras and to provide logistical support. Credit: Canadian Armed Forces via Storyful
