Caretaker Spoon-Feeds Honeycomb to Bear in Otisville, New York

Orphaned Wildlife Center director Susan Kowalczik was captured on video spoon-feeding honeycomb to a rescued 25-year-old Syrian brown bear, Leo, at his sanctuary home in Otisville, New York, on October 19.

The Orphaned Wildlife Center is a facility that focuses on wildlife rehabilitation, treatment, and release of orphaned and injured wild animals. Any animals that cannot be released for medical or other reasons are provided lifetime care at the sanctuary.

Leo weighs around 900 pounds and has been at the sanctuary since he was a cub, according to Kerry Clair, who captured the video and works at the Orphaned Wildlife Center. Credit: Kerry Clair via Storyful
