Cat Rescued After Spending Three Weeks Stuck in Roof

Melbourne animal carer Nigel Williamson rescued a cat weighing less than 2kg after it was discovered in a roof. It had been there for at least three weeks, according to Williamson and the cat’s owners.

Despite his attempts, the cat had to be euthanised, according to its owners, who commented on the videos.

Gayathri Kodancha said the cat, named Ruby, had been missing since May 18 and after its rescue, a vet discovered it had suffered “severe damage” to its kidneys.

These videos show the cat in the roof, and also after its rescue, drinking water.

Gayathri Kodancha later wrote on Facebook: “It’s very sad and with a heavy heart we had to put her to sleep. Vet said that there is very little hope. RIP”. Credit: Facebook/Nigel Williamson via Storyful
