Chelsea Fans Chant 'We Saved Football' Following Reports Club Will Withdraw From ESL

Chelsea fans celebrated outside London’s Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, April 20, following reports the club was preparing to withdraw from the newly proposed European Super League (ESL).

Twelve European clubs announced on Sunday that they would be joining the breakaway Super League competition. Another three clubs were projected to join, for a total of 15 founding members. Five additional teams would be allowed to qualify annually, the group said.
