Coast Guard and Sheriff's Office Rescue Person From Aircraft Downed Off Louisiana Coast

A Coast Guard helicopter crew and officers from the St Mary’s Parish Sheriff’s Office teamed up to rescue a pilot after their small plane came down in Fourleague Bay, south of Morgan City, Louisiana, on July 27.

According to local reports, the incident was reported on Tuesday morning. A locally-based Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter responded, along with a boat from the sheriff’s office. According to the Coast Guard, the person was pulled up into the the helicopter, and then taken to receive medical care.
