'Community Spirit': Hearse Stuck in Yorkshire Snow Rescued by Neighbors

A hearse bound for a crematorium found itself stuck on a snowy hill in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, on January 14, prompting members of the community to jump into action.

Annette Rollinson captured footage of the incident, writing on Facebook that several members of the community went out to push vehicles by hand, spread salt, and even walk family members up the snowy hill on foot.

A passing tow truck driver offered to tow the hearse to the crematorium, according to the BBC.

Carole Vernon, whose father’s casket was inside the hearse, told the BBC, “There was a chance Dad’s funeral wouldn’t have taken place if it weren’t for their help.”
