Navy Confirms SEAL Convoy Flew Trump Flag on Kentucky Highway

A Navy spokesman has confirmed that a military convoy spotted on Interstate 65 outside of Louisville, Kentucky, on January 29 flying a ‘Trump’ flag belonged to a Navy SEALs unit.

Naval Special Warfare Group 2 spokesperson Lieutenant Jacqui Maxwell confirmed in a statement to ABC News that the vehicles were being driven by service members from a Naval Special Warfare unit, also known as the Navy SEALS, and an investigation had been opened into the incident.

The Courier-Journal, based out of Louisville, had investigated the reports on social media of the convoy but officials from Louisville-based Army post Fort Knox and the Kentucky National Guard said it wasn’t their convoy. Department of Defense spokesman, Major Jamie Davis had told reporters the vehicles didn’t appear to belong to any branch, but could be military surplus.

Carole Puryear’s video of the incident has now been viewed over 69,000 times on Facebook. The video shows a large blue flag marked ‘Trump’ being flown from one of the four military-style Humvees in the convoy. Credit: Facebook/Carole Puryear via Storyful
