Crews Battle Windy Fire Burning in California's Sequoia National Forest

The Windy Fire burning in Tulare County, California, was at 26,051 acres with five percent containment on Monday, September 20, according to fire authorities.

Footage by the U.S. Forest Service – Sequoia National Forest shows firefighters using tools to “remove fuels near the trees” in order to prevent the forward spread of the wildfire.

The service said over 1,136 firefighters were working to suppress the Windy Fire burning in the Sequoia National Forest.

The KNP Complex Fire, which was also burning in the Sequoia National Forest, prompted authorities to wrap the base of the world’s largest tree in aluminium.
