Dallas Police Seek Suspect for LGBT Church Vandalism

Dallas police are seeking a man who vandalized a predominantly LGBT church on Wednesday, January 4, with graffiti terms like “kitty porn.” Police released video of the suspect from another location on Friday, January 13.

The graffitti at the Interfaith Peace Chapel at Cathedral of Hope included several misspellings and a person’s name, a Louisiana phone number and a reference to a brown “Chivy Suburbin,” according to a report.

Police said surveillance video shows the suspect at a different location than the church and is believed to be the same man who vandalized the Cathedral of Hope.

Police described the suspect as a 40-year-old black male with a goatee and “an unusual walk.” The suspect’s vehicle is a gold/tan Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy small-type SUV, according to police.

The church’s senior pastor told the Dallas Observer he initially thought it was mindless graffiti, but has since thought the vandalism was related to an appearance he made on a radio program.
